   Anuradha Vikranth

Anuradha Vikranth is a renowned Bharatanatyam danseuse hailing from Bengaluru. She is known for her creativity, versatility, vibrancy and grace. Her boundless thirst for deeper knowledge in the field of dance and deep commitment have strengthened her ingenuity to create a niche for herself as a fine dancer, an inspiring teacher, a creative choreographer and an able organizer.

Anuradha Vikranth is trained in Bharatanatyam by the eminent Gurus Smt. Nirupama Rajendra and Smt. Narmada.

She is also the direct disciple of Padmabhushana Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam under whom she has undergone intensive training in "Karanas" and the elements of Natyasastra.

  • Anuradha is an ‘A’ graded artist of Doordarshan.

    She holds the Master’s Degree in Bharatanatyam from the Sastra University, Tamil Nadu. Presently, she is continuing her further academic pursuit in the field of dance.

    Currently, she is the secretary of World Dance Alliance – Karnataka Chapter.

    She has given numerous performances on prestigious occasions at major cultural centres in India, USA, Canada, UK and UAE. Her performances have always enthralled art lovers, connoisseurs of dance and critics from India and abroad. She has been specially lauded for her Nritta and Abhinaya.

    She is also one of the very few dancers in Bharatanatyam to adopt ‘Chitra Nritya’ wherein she draws the picture of a ‘peacock’ with her feet during the course of dance in the presentation entitled “Mayura Sandesha.” She is guided by Guru Dr. Veena Murthy for this much appreciated dance feature.

    Anuradha Vikranth has several awards to her credit. To name a few: she is the recipient of Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda State Award 2018 from Govt. of Karnataka; "FLO Woman of the Future Award” by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce; ‘Gaurav Puraskar’; ‘Natya Visharade’; ‘Kala Arati Ratna’; ‘Yuva Kalasreshta’; an award from BCKA; ‘National Vocational Excellence Award’ in Bharatanatyam; Vyasa Samman; etc.

    Anuradha was invited to the United Kingdom as a lead choreographer to present her dance production “Mahabharata -The essence of life”. This project was supported by EarthKala and The Arts Council, England.

    Anuradha had the privilege of choreographing ‘Janapada Vaibhava’ with about 1100 folk artists for the historic Vishwa Kannada Sammelana.

    Anuradha Vikranth was one of the master Judges for the dance reality show “Takadhimita,” which was aired on the TV channel COLORS KANNADA. It was very popular dance reality show on the regional channel.

    Her recent TED talk on the topic “Dance and Mudita - The art of appreciation,” presented by MSRIT was very well received and appreciated for its content and presentation.


    Anuradha Vikranth is the founder and creative director of the dance institute ‘Drishti Art Centre’ located in the own premises at Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru, since 2001. She has been imparting training in Bharatanatyam to many aspiring students. She has choreographed several productions and presented through her dance ensemble.

    Anuradha, with the support and involvement of her husband T. M. Vikranth (Director, Drishti Media) has also established ‘Drishti Art Foundation,’ an organisation incessantly working for the promotion and propagation of classical arts. DAF has been organizing ‘Drishti National Dance Festival’ every year since 2005 at Bengaluru. Artists from various parts of India are invited to perform in this prestigious annual event which has become one of the most popular and admired events in India.
